Adding, Amending or Cancelling Returns

You may occasionally need to file a return containing Additional, Amended or Cancelled data. All five versions of eForms enable you to prepare and submit Additional, Amended and Cancelled slips to CRA and Revenu Québec. Slips which need to be updated but which have not yet been submitted to CRA or Revenu Québec do not need to be Amended or Cancelled; Additions, Amendments & Cancellations are ONLY required if the return has been submtitted to CRA or Revenu Québec and distributed to its recipients.

NOTE: We recommend that you make a backup or your original data before you Add, Amend or Cancel any slips, as the changes you make cannot be reversed.

In order to correctly process an amended or cancelled return DO NOT import data for the Amended or Cancelled slips into eForms unless you are using the ‘Update based on linking field’ feature of eForms Enterprise. All slips being amended or cancelled must:

• already exist within eForms
• have already been submitted to CRA or Revenu Québec
• be edited manually, unless you are using the ‘Update based on linking field’ feature of eForms Enterprise

eForms cannot process amended or cancelled Revenu Québec slips if the original slip does not exist in eForms’ data file.
