Data File Security - eForms Free, eForms Lite & eForms Basic

Security in eForms Free, eForms Lite & eForms Basic is limited to locking the current data file and user data files so that they can be accessed only from within eForms.

Data File Security - eForms Standard & eForms Enterprise

eForms Standard & eForms Enterprise have enhanced security which can restrict access to any data file, as well as the user database, to selected users. Use the ADMIN user account to set access restrictions for any data file, regardless of ownership. The owner of a data file, typically its creator, has the ability to set access restrictions for that data file. The ownership of any data file can be changed to enable any other user the ability to set access restrictions.

Restrict access to the current data file - Only users with a check beside their name will be able to access the current open data file when this box is checked
Select All - Select all users
Select None - Clear selection
Owner/Data File creator - The name of the eForms user who created the current data file
Change Owner - Change the owner of the current data file

Protect user settings data from unauthorized access - Configure the user settings database so that it CANNOT be opened by any program other than AvanTax eForms
Protect current data file from unauthorized access - Configure the current data file so that it CANNOT be opened by any program other than AvanTax eForms

NOTE: For optimal data file security, make use of the user, file and folder security settings native to your operating system; in addition to useing the security features built into eForms.
